FAQs

When do I need to get in touch to book design time?

2-3 months in advance of when you wish to start any project is advised as design slots get booked in advance. (I usually have bookings anything up to 6 months ahead)

When do I need to order my save the dates?

Anything from 12 months to 18 months before your wedding, everyone is different.

When do I need to order my Wedding invitations?

Traditionally invitations are sent 3-6 months before your wedding to guests. So allow at least 3 months before that for design time.

How long is the design process from booking to invite in hand?

It varies from 3-8 weeks depending on detail and work involved.

Postage - How do you send orders?

I send all orders tracked and signed for unless small samples that are standard 1st class.

What is hot foiling?

Hot foiling is when a metal plate is created with a bespoke design, pressed onto card with heat and foil leaving an indented shiny metalic effect.

How much on average do brides spend on stationery?

Again this varies depending on budgets. On average an Aimee Willow Designs bride spends 7% of their wedding budget on all stationery & design.

Which is the most cost effective option if my budget doesn’t allow for specialised finishes?

I would recommend a gatefold or z fold invite – it’s one item that can still fit a fair amount of information on. Standard print only can keep costs minimal with no finishes such as foiling etc…

What deposit do you take?

It can vary depending on the project. I ask for either the design fee or a 50% deposit to book your design time, then the remainder is due before final project handover or print.
